Skiing in Vail and Aspen, Colorado, USA

As the days grow shorter and the temperature drops, our thoughts are turning to the winter ahead. If you’re digging out your boots, planning snow based adventures and where best to enjoy them, we can help. Top of our activity list is skiing, and the best locations are a couple of outstanding ski resorts in Colorado.

Skiing in either Aspen or Vail top our list of things to do this season. Both resorts offer a great party spirt, alongside top world class skiing. In Colorado, weather elements combine to bring you the softest powder snow and bright sunshine for an average of over 300 days per year – hard statistics to beat! Activity opportunities abound to suit all ages, abilities and interests, but our favourite remains the pure unrivalled joy of skiing in Colorado.

So, where should you base yourself in Colorado to enjoy both skiing in Aspen and skiing in Vail? Both resorts offer fantastic skiing, and each have superb support infrastructure. Miles of clean piste for every level, opportunities to take it slow and easy…or want to hit a black before breakfast? Both resorts excel, whatever your wishes! Vail boasts the largest network of express quad chairlifts in the world, while Aspen hosts the Cirque lift, the longest US ski lift, with a vertical rise of 4,406 feet. With a range of accommodation and restaurants to suit all budgets, it’s not whether to go, but when!

Can’t decide between Aspen and Vail? Have your cake and eat it too! Hire a car and you can enjoy the best of both, enjoying the glorious scenery during the trip between them. With well maintained roads, regular radio weather bulletins and all the advantages of being entirely free, a rental car will make the difference between having a good time and having a great time! With a hire car, you set the schedule, budget and can impulsively stop along the way – what could be better? Recognise the frustration of spotting that little roadside cafe with inviting smoke curling from the chimney, from the window of a coach, and not being at liberty to call STOP? Eliminate it! Put yourself in the driving seat by renting a car during your stay in Colorado. Enjoy skiing in both Aspen and Vail with a rental car – grab the key, go ski and celebrate feeling entirely free!
