Family Getaways across the USA

It can be tough to find vacation destinations suitable for kids as well as adults. With these three great options for family getaways, the whole family will have a wonderful time and make lasting memories.

Discover some of the top family getaway ideas that will delight and impress travelers of any age.

Orlando, Florida

You probably already know that Orlando is home to a range of family amusement parks like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, but it offers a lot more as well. Try the smaller parks like Wet N’ Wild or Gatorland, both of which offer fewer crowds and much lower ticket prices. There are also opportunities for outdoor activities like swimming, golfing and exploring the nearby Everglades.

Chattanooga, Tennessee

Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee

This is an unexpected addition to the list, but Chattanooga is the perfect compromise for those who want city and nature in one. The city is home to one of the best aquariums in the country, the zoo boasts fantastic animal exhibits and Coolidge Park is family-friendly and even has a historic carousel. In just 15 minutes, however, you could be hiking on Raccoon Mountain or Signal Mountain, kayaking in Nickajack Lake or taking a scenic boat ride along the stunning Tennessee River.

The Grand Canyon, Arizona

Many families make it to the Grand Canyon on their family getaways, but most of them spend just an hour or two at the famous South Rim and then end up moving on. To really get the most of this trip, spend at least two days in Grand Canyon National Park. Kids will love hiking right into the canyon, riding down on the back of a trained donkey or rafting along the Colorado River. This is one of the best active family getaways you can opt for, and it involves perhaps the most scenic destination in the United States.

Each of these wonderful destinations is a prime choice for family getaways. Kids and adults alike will love Orlando, Chattanooga and the Grand Canyon.
