5. Universal Orlando

For kids amusement parks, Universal Orlando never disappoints. Fans of Harry Potter will marvel at the additions to park that features attractions like Hogsmeade Village and the Escape from Gringotts roller coaster. Nevertheless, adults are not left watching kids. When traveling in a rental from Orlando International Airport, take SR-528 West 11 miles to I-4 East. Then take I-4 East 2 miles to exit 75A. Lastly, follow the signs to Universal Orlando’s central parking garage or to any of the resort hotels.

4. Six Flags Great America

Easily one of the versatile amusement parks in the United States, it is also filled with excitement. Boasting the fastest, tallest, and steepest wooden roller coaster in the world, Goliath, Six Flags Great America substantiates its place among the best amusement parks. Other exiting roller coasters include the X Flight and the American Eagle. Six Flags Great America is about 40 miles north of Chicago. After acquiring a rental vehicle, take I-94 or I-294 west for approximately 40-45 minutes. Take the exit on Grand Avenue (Rt. 132) east in Gurnee, Illinois.

3. Magic Kingdom

Among the best amusement parks is Magic Kingdom. Disney embodies the fantasies of children and reminds adults to be young at heart. This is one of the truly extraordinary kids amusement parks. In addition to Disney-themed roller coasters, visitors can expect massive park sections that have been transformed to mimic the world of memorable Disney characters. Especially immersive are Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and Enchanted Tales with Belle. There are 3 exits to Disney Theme Parks. Take exit 64 to arrive at the Magic Kingdom Park.

2. King’s Island

King’s Island is home to some of the most amazing rides found in the United States. Two roller coasters that attract adventurers from all over the country are the Banshee and the Beast. The Banshee races at 68 mph over 4,124 feet of track and is the longest inverted roller coaster in the world. The Beast continues to captivate riders after 30 years in service. It is one of the longest wooden roller coasters in the world. King’s Island also has a variety of aquatic adventures. This is one of the finest amusement parks US has to offer. When driving a rental from Cincinnati, take Interstate 71 North for 21 miles. Take exit 24, which goes to King’s Island Drive.

1. Cedar Point

Often at the top of most people’s top-five lists, Cedar Point is a household name for a reason. Millennium Force, their flagship roller coaster, reaches an astounding 93 miles per hour. To get up to such a crazy speed, the first drop nearly vertical at 80 degrees. Seventeen roller coasters are sprawled throughout the park. Though not one of the kids amusement parks, Cedar Point has plenty for children to do. Countless rides, restaurants, games, and shows fill the space between the roller coasters in this enormous park. From Cleveland, take a rental car on I-90 W toward Toledo. After 26 miles, stay right to change to OH-2 W. After another 26 miles, take the Rye Beach Road exit and turn left. Cedar point is 5 miles down the road.
